Reflecting on 2023 - a Year of Growth: A Holiday Message from SmartViser's CEO, Gilles Ricordel

Rennes, France – December 2023

As we approach the end of 2023, it's with immense pride and gratitude that I reflect on the exceptional achievements we've accomplished together over the past year. Each team member's collective efforts, dedication, and ingenuity have propelled us to new heights, making 2023 a year to remember.

In 2023, we navigated challenges, embraced opportunities, and achieved milestones that underscore the strength of our collaborative efforts. Our customer's and partners' trust and commitment have been the driving force behind our shared success, and for that, I am truly thankful.

Reflecting on 2023

Our achievements in 2023 for SmartViser and ViserMark stand as a testament to the resilience and unwavering commitment of the entire SmartViser family. From navigating challenges to seizing opportunities, we have demonstrated our ability to adapt, innovate, and thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing landscape.

In the first quarter of the year, we started with the Mobile World Congress, where SmartViser exhibited our latest technology, and it has been one of the most successful events to date. In the second and last quarter of the year, we had a chance to meet our partners and customers at several different events: BAPCO in the UK, Telecom World Middle East in Dubai, and Network X event in Paris, among others.

Here are just a few highlights of our collective accomplishments in 2023:

1. Following our collaboration with the EU Commission, the Energy Labelling Regulation was published in September 2023 and will come into force in June 2025. We have been honoured and privileged to be involved in this project and support manufacturers and Market Surveillance authorities getting ready with the new regulation. 2. We have welcomed new OEMs who have deployed test automation in their lab, and we are humbled that viSer is now used by four (4) additional smartphone brands. Learn more about our products.

3. We have continued to support our customers during the SFR certification as an SFR-accredited lab for smooth approvals and device launches. Learn more about the different testing services available.

4. Expansion to our geographical territory in Africa with the first Mobile Network Operator in the region to deploy viSer test automation with very positive feedback.  Several test automation evaluations are ongoing, further announcements will be made in 2024. Check more success stories here.

5. Following our involvement in Private Network testing, we are now proud members of EUWENA. Full Press Release available here. We will make further announcements on new projects in 2024 on Private Networks and Mission Critical Projects.

6. Finally, we have collaborated with Tokyo University in their research study to monitor the QoS (Quality of Service) of remote collaboration and remote working under real-world 5G network conditions. More details of the study results will be made available in early 2024.

This year has been a testament to our collective innovative spirit, and commitment to advancing our business and research and development (R&D) initiatives. We've improved existing products and explored new technological frontiers, ensuring that SmartViser remains a pioneer in our field.

Some of the main highlights from R&D:

1. Successfully launched the EU Commission Energy Labelling Pilot Application “viSer Neo EEI” for Android and iOS devices. The Pilot phase has been very successful, and the user adoption and positive feedback have exceeded our expectations.

2. Our commitment to putting customers at the centre of our operations has resulted in several feature launches in our viSer Analytics with enhanced dashboards that offer different levels of granularity and visual representation of results.

3. Following the success of the viSer Audio MOS solution the team has been working on new smart audio hardware further simplifying the setup. It still offers a wide versatility of testing from OTT (like Viber and WhatsApp calls)to any type of cellular call (2G, 3G, VoLTE, VoWiFi).

4. Enhance our technical capabilities for the Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) communication technology. It fully supports 3GPP KPIs like PTT Access Time, M2E Latency, End-to-end MCPTT Access Time and late call entry time.

5. Finally, our forward-thinking approach and commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry will result in the launch of the new product in 2024. We have given viSer extra powers, and viSer+ will be the first product from SmartViser to offer layer three network information for testing, analysis, and troubleshooting.

Smartphone Battery Life and Energy Efficiency

Following the successful launch of ViserMark in 2020 we have continued to fine-tune it further and bring new innovations that benefit our customers and end users.

2023 saw the launch of a new label that shows the annual energy consumption of the device. Along with the circular and sustainability initiatives worldwide, we are all passionate about contributing and making a change.

The ViserMark website had a refresh in 2023 to help you compare devices more easily and make more informed choices. The database is regularly enhanced, and new devices are constantly added.

For 2024, we will continue to exhibit at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona for the ninth time. Our stand will be at Hall 5 French Tech Pavilion/ Business France.
